 The Bear Den camping trip on December 5 and 6, 2009, was in the Mojave National Preserve. We visited Mitchell Caverns and Kelso Dunes and camped at Hole-in-the-Wall Campground. Although very cold and windy at night, daytime weather was nice and the desert in winter was beautiful! |

 We introduced the boys to the hobby of Geocaching with great success. Geocaching has been described as a high tech scavenger hunt. First you must research the area you will be visiting on the Geocaching website, you can search for caches of varying size and difficulty all by zip code or a convenient map feature. After printing the details for our caching adventure, I downloaded the coordinates to some GPS units and off we went.
